The timber choices, insulation materials, kitchen, bathroom and sanitary equipment, windows and doors and all the electrical materials are all supplied by German, Austrian and Swedish manufacturers and guarantee superb quality and European Standards.
Our Timber has been selected from the alpine forests of Austria and Germany by our preferred sawmills and precision milled using the latest laser technology. This premium selected timber is then kiln-dried to reach a moisture content of 19% or less. Kiln-dried timber ensures that your floors, walls and roof are straight and well aligned. No need to worry about the problems associated with green or inferior timber lumber commonly available at most building yards. Guaranteed not to result in sagging roofs, crooked walls or lifting floors. Our timber choices ensure a reliable building material you can count on for optimum, lasting performance and excellent finish.
Our Floors are supplied with high quality glazed ceramic tiles, robust and easy
to maintain.
Our Exterior and Interior Walls are made of a carcass framework and bricked
up with local stone material for a stronger and more energy efficient system. Appropriate framing is also supplied for all openings. The equivalent components can be shipped unassembled to some geographic areas. This means our walls can be erected quicker and more efficiently to make your home weatherproof and secure within a very short time frame.
Our Glu-Lam Beams are used for the roof rafters, centre-T beams and all wooden parts which are visible. This technique provides both advanced strength and aesthetic appeal. A beautiful wood architectural feature brings warmth to these homes interiors.
Our Roof System consists of solid premium grade Glue Lam rafters and boarded with wooden shelves, nicely painted on the visible under-surface. On top of the shelves a sufficient thick special insulation layer is bolted down. On top of that crossbars are fixed to ensure the ventilation underneath of the corrugated sheet roof. Roof felt, vents, step and valley flashing and trim are also included. The roof insulation is equivalent to a concrete ceiling with 0,60m thickness. For efficient water protection during the rainy periods the houses have roof gutters on both sides. The roof is covered with corrugated iron sheets.
The "African Homes Ltd." structure is designed to meet intense and severe wind
loads.
Our Exterior Trim regarding the colour painting of the visible wooden framework and the walls is to the customer's personal choice.
Our Windows are a very important element in your home package as they are your home's eyes to the world. They can truly make a home look stunning, as well as being functional. Windows let in light and provide wonderful views to the outside. At "African Homes Ltd." we ensure that all our windows do all of these things as well as meet our stringent standards.
Our vinyl windows are chosen for their low maintenance and high energy efficiency. We have specified a top quality vinyl window, fusion welded for extra strength using the latest technology and supplied by a national brand name manufacturer. You never have to worry about painting or staining our vinyl windows because the white colour extends all the way through. It truly is a low maintenance solution.
All our windows are double glazed, and use the latest sealants, spacers and weather stripping for optimal energy performance. This gives you a more comfortable home and less fading of drapery and furniture.
A mosquito net is mounted on the outside of each window as well on the terrace
doors and the entrance door.
Our Exterior Door and the Terrace Doors are made of vinyl material insulated, prepared in primed steel frames for maximum durability. They come in a wide variety of designs and configurations.
